About

Wicasa Akantu means "Human Beings" in Lakota.  The Lakota language is primarily a language operating in feel not in descriptive objects, events and emotions.  Wicasa Akantu is an experience of integration with human kind.  The experience is a natural act of in the presence of another being in legitimacy-in-coexistence.

Being quiet, gentle, peaceful, still and listening may begin to open the experience of "being human" in the Lakota Paradigm.  Listening is a way of being present in the art of living.  The feeling generated determine the creation experienced.   The body is connected to the "breathe" and silence is comfortable in Wicasa Akantu.  Wicasa Akantu is not a description of an isolated self, mental deffinition rather an experience of human kind, oneness, harmony, integration and balance.  

The Lakota people have suffered an inter-generational trauma from having their language oppressed by government, religion and educations systems.  Wicasa Akantu is an experiential learning process endeavoring to revitalize the Lakota language in active learning with children to elders.
