About
When green design is usually discussed, most people think of buildings, products or even cars, but what about packaging? Shouldn't magazines, business cards, brochures and websites be green?
When we typically discuss sustainable graphic design, we talk paper, inks, and printing. How else can we make the graphic design profession more sustainable? Furthermore, what does it mean to make a sustainably designed print piece? Should we have standards like LEED?
How can our expertise in the design process open new and less environmentally damaging doors as outlets for our creativity? We typically solve client problems through something tangible, but as sustainability is a systemic concept, can we use our creative process to solve system related issues? (the intellectual object)
What does the future hold for our profession as we face dwindling resources and an economic crunch? How do we educate the young designers graduating in the next few years about this topic? Who's the leaders in this movement? This is the place to discuss!
