How has your region tried to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastics, toxics, batteries, techno-trash, and other difficult-to-recycle items? To what extent is the difficulty a product of not having technical people participating?
What worked and what didn't work?
If recycling doesn't seem to be working (dumping has increased by 2.5 times since the seventies) what should be the next step? How about Zero Waste which redefines the production process while disallowing any design for waste anywhere?
Are you thinking that chemicals and radioactives are not reusable? Is this an educated view or a stereotype not based on actual experience? Could there be a more incisive view? Has reuse typically included chemists who actually understand toxicities?
What innovations are you trying to introduce? How can we help?
