Real Food Now! Month of Action, Sept 22-Oct 22
| The Real Food Challenge is launching across the US with the Real Food Now Month of Action, from September 22 to October 22. During the month, our goal is for students at more than 300 campuses to put on events focused on real food -- food that nourishes communities, producers, consumers, and the earth. So, if you're on a college campus anywhere in the US, then plan an event (anything from a potluck with 10 people to a survey in your dining commons to a school-wide festival and teach-in) and register it on the Real Food Challenge launch site. Then take pictures during the event (maybe include some signs that say "Real Food Challenge" or "Real Food Now" and the name of your college) and send them to us, and we'll post them on the Real Food Challenge website. |
Intro to the Western MA Real Food space
This is the place to connect with each other to build and strengthen the Real Food network in Western MA. Here we can post events and have discussions and share resources regarding real food in our region. There isn't much here yet, so add what you can and this space will grow!! Try joining the group, and then add an event or start a discussion. Be sure to at least leave a comment at the bottom of the page...
What's Real Food? Check out the Documents section below for The Real Food Declaration and an overview of the Real Food Challenge.
A good aid in getting going here is the guide to how Groups work here at Wiser Earth. Look around and explore the links and sections on this page for an idea of the kinds of things that can be made here.
We also have a blog where Real Food Challenge campus organizers across Western Mass write about what they're changing at their campuses. Check it out!
And here's a quicker intro to me...
I am Patrick Gibbs (username PatrickExpression), and I'm the Western MA Real Food Challenge Area Organizer, and I'm also the administrator of this group. Send me a message if you want to collaborate or if you're doing anything relevant to real food in Western MA (e-mail pag05 [at] hampshire [dot] edu).
cheers, Patrick
