What is the new potential of networks and social problem solving? How can funders and activists best seize the opportunity?
A group of Packard Foundation staff, other funders, social change leaders, academics, and technologists are coming together for a conversation --on-line and in-person -- about the emerging role of networks as a force for social change and how the potential can be realized. We will explore questions such as: What does the ability to easily form large groups mean for social problem solving? What are the implications for philanthropy? What are the implications for activists? How might foundations engage networks in developing program strategies and even making funding decisions? How might foundations fund networks? How do we approach measuring the social impact of networks?
