Press Release
Public Invitation of Maka Si Tomni Council
Little Big Horn Gathering June 25, 2008
March 8, 2008
Confidential Communication -Private Business

Maka Si Tomni is launching a public relations campaign and conversation for the Little Big Horn Victory Celebration, Montana, on June 25, 2008.  This is the largest gathering of 1st nation descendants of the Battle of Greasy Grass in 132 years.  The Maka Si Tomni mission is “Bringing Forth a Thriving Lakota Language & Culture.” Over 500 Lakota horseman, elders, walkers, singers and dancers, will be in attendance and 80% of the participating riders are children.   Maka Si Tomni is committed to building a communication and management bridge between the traditional ways of being and living and modernity.

The first principle in creating a relationship with the Maka Si Tomni Council is all life is sacred and is respected.  The Lakota language is a sacred language that is thousands of years old passed orally from generation to generation by grandparents to grandchildren.   The creation stories that constitute, sustain and maintain the Lakota language and traditions have remained “intact” not one stone has been violated, changes or perturbed.

The paparazzi panic and camera’s knocking each other over, and the frenzy of pundit’s who are paid to provide “red meat” as entertainment stops now in our relations with press, television, reporters, photographers, writers, journalists, and all communication channels.  We can’t control your behavior and we are going to control ours!  The media frenzy in modernity is scaring the children in the world and there is another viewpoint of life, being and living that transcends the suicidal madness occurring.  To report or offer this “Lakota Paradigm” you must first be open to silence, stillness and openness to a radical experience of what it means to be a human being on the planet earth.   It can actually be a lot of fun full of social connections and humor.  We have a lot to laugh about at the moment!

WE invite professional media, journalists, writers, and social activists to create a relationship with Maka Si Tomni Council.  All media, filming, photographs and reporting relationship regarding Maka Si Tomni Council are “Confidential Communications - Private Business” matter.   If you or your medium is interested in participating in this very special event and learn about the wisdom of the Lakota language and culture please let us know.

Maka Si Tomni Productions, a non-profit 501  (c) 3 Lakota film and media company is managing media and you can apply to participate by contacting: www.wiserearth.org sign on as a user and go to Maka Si Tomni (Surrounding the Universe) and apply to the MST Production group.  This group is private and in your application please provide your offer, professional expertise and desired service and outcome in our project you are committed to.

Maka Si Tomni Productions is creating a sacred documentary entitled “The Lakota Ride Again” that is in production be filmedduring this up-coming event. It is a new episode of “reality TV” on real-time and pure-play, to be apart you need to honor the work of Hunter Thompson, “put yourself into it.”  Respect is the basic primary virtue of the Lakota culture and this process of building a media team is a learning experience for everyone.   We have a demo DVD available on the Internet at www.makasitomni.org
It offers an introduction to the “Lakota Paradigm” and the seriousness of the Lakota people regarding the Battle of Greasy Grass on June 25th 1868.

WE do not intend to control the Internet or anyone from saying whatever they want to say.  What WE are fully committed to is to create a “voice of sanity” and express the truth of indigenous realities in modernity that may serve as a wake up call for all these boys on the playground in our world.   We pray that in working together we can save the children today falling into the well in our daily lives.  WE pray that the day will come when every child born on earth is welcomed, cared for, fed, and nourished in designing a new world together.

The theme of the Little Big Horn Victory Celebration is “Peace through Unity.”  The Little Big Horn National Monument is “Sacred Hollow Ground” US Veterans of the 7th Calvary lost their lives and the Lakota in their sacred traditions and understanding of “warriorhood” respect their opponents and pray equally for the bravery they demonstrated.  This is not a Russell Means declaration of political independence or some radical American Indian Movement.  This is a circle of traditional elders, chiefs and common men taking action in solidarity to serve the emerging Lakota 7th generation in the Lakota story which has relevance in your life. The Little Big Horn Victory Celebration is about the Lakota children getting back up on their horses and bringing forth a thriving Lakota language and culture.  It’s not about the world media making it into a global political nightmare.  It is spiritual and rests always already in natural law.

WE look forward to working with you!
