Landscape Fire and Resource Management Planning tools (LANDFIRE) is a shared project between the wildland fire management programs of the USDA Forest Service and USDOI. LANDFIRE generates consistent and comprehensive spatial data layers and models describing vegetation, wildland fuel, and fire regimes across the 50 United States, based on current, peer-reviewed scientific methods. The TNC-LANDFIRE national team engaged a diverse set of partners to achieve the project's objectives, particularly in the expert modeling workshops and model review processes. LANDFIRE data and models help TNC, federal agencies and other partners with issues surrounding biodiversity integrity, threats assessments and strategic planning at regional and national levels.
