About

An almost universal causal factor in social, environmental, economic, political, and health problems, and impediment to sustainability,  is human overpopulation.  Population creates demand, and demand results in overuse and depletion of resources of all kinds--yet few are willing to recognize, address, and solve it.  Fear is a central reason for this lack of will.  This group offers a place to safely discuss these issues and solutions.  This is not about eugenics, crypto- or otherwise. It is about ensuring a better quality of life, in a very comprehensive way, for all, while preserving the quality of life for future generations.

Human overpopulation is one of the issues involving another overiding issue, and that is the issue of The Commons.  Whether we continue as a moral, sustainable species in a sustainable world will depend on the recognition of these two intertwined issues.

There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil, to one who is striking at the root.  --  Henry David Thoreau
