What would an ideal civilization look like?
Formal Consensus Overview
This is a group set up for discussion about what an ideal world might look like and also an experiment with Formal Consensus Decision Making (FC) techniques on-line.
Members have been invited from the thread Human Responsibility on group WEversity and from other groups.
If you wish to join in please read the accompanying pdf file Formal Consensus flowchart, and the Group message Formal Consensus Basic Concepts because FC moves forward with specific agendas, agreements and in a process guided by a facilitator and you might also find it useful to read through the thread Human Responsibility. It would also be helpful if you would agree to visit the group and read the dialogue at least once in every 48 hours.
A brief reminder for initial members, FC begins with an Agenda and a proposition is made, in this case "What would an ideal civilization look like?"
There will be a second major proposition: "How can we get there?" and there may be propositions on the way - the FC process is a means to have high quality decision making and is flexible at all stages.
I suggest we begin with a written proposition, then have a "Go-round" each member contributing in turn. I will facilitate at least once every 24 hours and move the process on.
Here is the text of the pdf Flow Chart describing the process:
