About
Welcome to the Food Justice Community Kitchen in the BIG ONE movement! This is where we connect, share and concoct our magic! We are the ones who are envisioning an abundance of fairness and intelligence in the way our food is grown and made available to all, forever. We want our schools to have the most healthy food possible for our children. We will educate ourselves about what is in our food and how our food can heal us naturally or hurt us if we are not careful.
We want our urban communities to be bustling with backyards and rooftop gardens. We may be locavores. We may only eat food that's in season. We're aware of the migrant farm workers and want their lives to be rich, free of harm and injustice. We share our food and our seeds, our heirloom varieties, our recipes, and our dining table. We are compassionate, respectful and grateful to our animal friends.
We want our soil, our earth, our waters to be fertile, rich and perennial. We want our air to be healthy downstream in time. We buy from businesses that get it. We will work to eradicate hunger, food deserts and obesity. We are hungry for change in the food system.
This is who we are. Who we want to be.
Once again, Welcome to the Food Justice Community Kitchen in the BIG ONE movement! I am pleased to serve as your host at this unending feast.
