About
We are a group of rainwater professionals and enthusiasts, meeting the first Monday of the month from 7-9pm at the SFPUC (1145 Market Street, 4th floor). Our monthly meetings include a topic-driven presentation by a rain water professional, as well as the opportunity to exchange professional experiences related to rainwater systems, education and policy. Our members are rainwater professionals (most ARCSA-certified); city, county and state water officials; product producers, and rainwater enthusiasts.
ARCSA-NorCal has four key objectives to further the adoption of rainwater catchement as a common practice in California
1. Education
Sharing information, both internally within the NorCal ARCSA chapter (resources, products, contractors) and externally (building capacity, promoting the practice & raising awareness with the public).
2. Influence policy at the state level
Work both independently and in collaboration with existing agencies/organizations for policy implementation that promotes rainwater catchment.
3. Code adoption at city & county levels
Develop strategies that facilitate rainwater code adoption by counties and cities.
4. Facilitate Implementation
Offer web site/on-line forum, formal training in rainwater catchment practices through internships, workshops, annual conference, blog, design series.
The national ARCSA does not officially maintain legal chapters, but we do work closely with them to support the national organization.
