Easier, cheaper methods of establishing and managing trees and nitrogen-fixing multipurpose hedges are needed for sustainable land-use in Africa becuase of the usually depleted soils, very varying rain fall, and shortage of money, good dry season feed, and possibilities for reliable watering and transportation. I have developed highly improved low-input methods in Africa for direct seeding and contour hedges between crops. You can see more at my profile. TorstenMandal (Torsten Mandal). New projects: I have helped a friend out in creating a Social Network for the organizations that he is involved with in Cameroon.
