About

The Association for Conflict Resolution's International Section (ACRIS) established Regional Networks to support our members and colleagues around the world, and to promote conflict resolution capacity building. We encourage ACR members and non-members alike to join together to expand our field worldwide. The goal of the Regional Networks is to provide practitioners and conflict resolution organizations across the globe with mechanisms to strengthen networking, facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, and promote a culture of conflict resolution in particular geographic regions.

The Middle East Network includes participants from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. To date, arbitrators and mediators from Jordan, UAE, Eqypt, Syria and Lebanon are working together to develop a network of support and information.  These Network participants are reaching out to other individuals and organizations involved in mediation and arbitration in their respective countries.  The Network is planning quarterly conference calls, and is gathering information on the status of conflict resolution practice throughout the Middle East region.  The group has also developed a blog where participants can post comments, news, and upcoming events.
