Role of ICT in sustainable development

The overall objective of this group is to discuss the role of ICT in the creation of a sustainable world.

ICT (Information and Communication Technology) services are a big progress of humanity. But E-waste (IT material, energy waste) is huge, and a computer is made of highly polluting materials and consumes a lot of energy during its very short life. E-waste is not only about material and energy, but also service-waste. When ICT is not appropriate to an organization or a process, human labor waste can be huge too.

How can we create clean ICT services and materials? What use is efficient in sustainable development?

Debating those question is the objective of this group.
