Organizing the dollar vote to support sustainable manufacturing

As pointed out in "Who Killed the Electric Car," consumers have not done enough to "pull" the market toward sustainability.   Let's brainstorm ways to create intentional, regional consumer pull in the manufacturing sector of the New Economy (thereby co-creating sustainable jobs, ethical businesses, and regional, green manufacturing.)

Wanted: Consumer activists to brainstorm the creation of a Green Buyers Group!

 

Potential definition: a co-business model in which manufacturers, venture capitalists, and consumer- and environmental- activists collude to grow the regional New Economy, with special emphasis on local, sustainable manufacturing with new ethical jobs and engaged consumers.


GBG could include a collective venture capital fund; a virtual Costco for pre-orders; and/or an online personal shopping service.
