Critter of the Week: The American Pika
American Pika, (Ochotona princeps)
A diurnal species of pika that is found in the mountains of western North America, usually in boulder fields at or above tree line. They are flower-gathering animals, which are the smallest of the rabbit group. The Center for Biological Diversity CBD is currently litigating to have this species added to the Endangered Species list because of the threat of climate change to its key habitat. Save this critter by joining CBD's action alerts.
