Africa Youth for Peace and Development organization was formed 1995 and was finally registered in the year 2000 under the ministry of youth and sport in Sierra Leone, as a voluntary, youth development organization that aims at organizing, empowering and creating opportunities for youths and Youths groups that are in difficult circumstances.


The organization has been working in the areas on Peace, HIV-aids, Homeless youths, War child, Health and Sanitation, youth development and total involvement of youths in the change of the society, That is by creating youth workshop training, seminars and conferences on how to bring everlasting peace and sustainable development for the minorities, the nation and the world as a whole.

The founders of the Africa Youths for peace and Development having seen harsh realities which are being experienced the entire continent as a result of war and the consequent violence galore which follow, have decided to form the organization with the vision of continental integration for peace and development for youths in the continent. It is the belief of this organization that violence achieves no meaningful goal.

Geographically the head quarter situated in Sierra Leone and member in out about 12 African Countries, Africa Youths for Peace and Development Organization is a non governmental organization that was established after the brutal civil war. Our mission to the people and the nation is to promote Education, Health care, Agriculture, and income generating activities , material and messages about (HIV/aid etc) providing on job training , implement Agricultural Project(Farming and Fishing)in collaboration with Youth serving agencies(YSA) and community based organizations.

Our Vision

The founders of Africa Youths for Peace and Development Organization having seen harsh realities which are being experienced all over the continent as a result of war and the consequent violence galore which flows, have decided to form this organization with a vision of continental integration for peace and development for youth across the continent.

It is the belief of the organization that violence achieves no meaningful goal. The Africa Youths for Peace and development otherwise known as AYPAD is a non-governmental, non-profit-making, non-political, voluntary youth development organization which aims at empowering youth and Youth groups through a multi faceted development program.

Africa Youths for Peace and Development Organization has been working in series of developmental issues. On the 21 September every year Africa Youths for Peace and Development Organization celebrates the International day of peace with members of his organization and 21 September 2003 which mark the international day of peace he gave out St Shirt, Hand Clean, leaf let’s and also went out to youths in the Ghettos and try’s to sensitize them about the International day of Peace. Every year there is grand peace cultural performances which portray peace messages.

Also every year on the 17 October, Mr. Salis Bangura urge members of Africa Youths for Peace and Development Organization, to stand up against poverty and every year on this day we will hold a minute of silence and afterward try to organize our stand up against poverty program On the 17 October 2007 AYPAD in collaboration wit youth groups played a stand up match and after there was a drama show and also there was a sensitization campaign for people to aware on this day.

Africa Youths for Peace and Development Organization has implemented several developmental project such as Piggery Project, were in the organization can now bust of having 85 Pigs, also he has implemented a garbage collection project Tthat has created employment for 75 youths of the organization. Each youth can earn an amount of Le 150.000 with the help of GTZ.

  • To have both national and international recognition by all youth groups and organization.
  • To assist youths in skill acquisition and self reliance programs.
  • To participate in local and international peace and development, conferences and seminars.
  • To advocate foe civic education and literacy programs for youths.
  • To serve as a forum of exchange of ideas, discussion of problems affecting youths and find solutions to them.
  • To assist in seeking lasting solutions for peace, Unity and Development among youths in Africa and the world as a whole.
  • To campaign against terrorism in Africa and the Universe.
  • To campaign against environmental degradation.
  • To campaign against gender inequality, Sexual violence, Abortion, child abuses, drug abuse and HIV-aids.
  • To engage in the campaign in the preservation of Marine resources .
  • To campaign against human right violation.
  • To promote the dignity and value of our heritage.
  • To engage in agriculture activities- war against hunger program.
