WiserAPI is now used by Social Actions

WiserEarth is now sharing our information through Social Actions - a web service that gathers events, groups, jobs, and donation opportunities from more than 50 sources. |
Social Actions helps people find and share opportunities to make a difference. Not only are these actions available on the website but they are also syndicated through more than 35 widgets, plugins, extensions, and mobile applications. That means the next time that you create a public event, group or job on WiserEarth people on all sorts of different websites are going to find out about it.
This has all been made possible through the WiserEarth API which was developed with the support of the WiserEarth community.
Current development efforts
1. Transitioning search engine from Mnogo to Sphinx
2. Re-writing and improving the API documentation. We're taking a hard look at Kiva, Twitter and Social Action's API documentation to see how we can improve our own.
WiserEarth API contains up-to-date information about organizations, groups, resources, events, jobs and solutions related to Social Justice and the Environment. At any given time, our database has over 125,000 records.
The beta version of the API is now available for WiserEarth Organization, Groups, Events, Jobs, Resources and Solution records. If you are interested in participating in the Beta, get your API Key here, and contact Oz at Oz[at]ezkode.com for any assistance you need.
We are now working on improving the API documentation and providing geolocation search for all records with location data (jobs, events, groups, and organizations) for all other WiserEarth records. WiserEarth API also now has a listing on the ProgrammableWeb
There's a lot of work to be done to make the WiserEarth API the absolute best resource for empowering developers to create world-changing web apps - and we could sure use your help to get there! This group is a wiki, which means you're welcome (and encouraged) to edit and add to these pages to help make them as awesome, organized, and useful as they can be!

WiserEarth’s greatest potential benefits is getting realized: the ability for other organizations to access and display WiserEarth’s wealth of data through their own websites. Imagine being able to have the greatest database of social change organizations ever assembled pumping through your group’s site, opening up new opportunities for collaboration.
