I would like to help facilitate an appropriate technology design and build area. I have a lot of materials for quick and easy rocket stoves and solar ovens and I though I could bring them down and have people learn about their design and how to build one, and them make it right there.
I would also be interested in working with anyone around the idea of putting together a demonstration garden for the two days. I was thinking about bringing a bunch of potted plants - edibles, natives, support species, etc and a strawbale and setting the plants up as guilds or companion plantings and then fluff the straw around them to resemble a bed so people can come by and see what their space could look like. I could also bring the basic components to lay a drip irrigation system over the bed - Jared from DOE thought that would be a great idea to show how to set up a drip irrigation system. I'm thinking something along the lines of 100 sq ft or so. Any suggestions or collaborative ideas on any of these two?
