I'm a starting out writer from Indonesia learning loads of stuff from your Worldchanging.com.
My main interest is to map the web of interconnected problems and solutions our world have and reinterpret them toward a life-sustaining civilization design so regular folks (from children to elders) can understand and take actions based on/toward that design in their personal, social and professional lives. Still at the very early stage of research though. Stumbled upon this group while browsing the WiserEarth groups directory. |

Hey folks, Jim Cummings signing on....I run Acoustic Ecology Institute, resources/info on sound-related environmental issues (acousticecology.org). My purpose for being alive on this planet is to start the ripple of unconditional love that becomes the wave to change the world and save the earth from the human race. To do so I write, attend political poetry readings, and post my writings on every public forum available to me on the internet. My core belief is that we are all spirits of light seeking to become human in our own evolution process, for light flows into us, light flows through us, light flows from us, as we are all free spirits of light and energy.

Hi there! My name is Beth Terry. I blog about reducing our plastic waste and plastic consumption at www.fakeplasticfish.com.
Most recently, I am involved in a campaign called Take Back The Filter (www.takebackthefilter.org) to urge Clorox, maker of BRITA water filter cartridges in North America, to create a take-back recycling program, such as already exists in Europe.
The campaign was begun by a bunch of bloggers, all of us non-professional activists, but at this point we've received endorsements from Co-op America, Sierra Club, Californians Against Waste, Organic Consumers Association, and collected nearly 6,000 petition signatures!
We'd love to have support from Worldchanging!

Hi, I'm Teresa Chapman and I cannot tell you how I landed here specifically except that I spend hours surfing the green sea daily looking for ideas, information, inspiration, and like-minded people.
I've recently joined a very cool 'environmental software' company - iWasteNot Systems - providing online reusable materials exchanges, customized for residential, industrial/commercial, construction/demolition, agriculture/forestry/biomass, electronics, healthcare sectors. And we're launching a new food exchange concept - an online local farmers' market & charitable donation/food waste avoidance site rolled into one, called Shared Harvest. I happened upon iWasteNot Systems by googling "what to do with a cooking pot" which led me to their "Recyclopedia" and the rest is history. I love that people are getting creative with ways to reuse...and that it actually occurs to people to think before they throw things out! rethink, reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose... how many more Rs can we come up with?
