Habib's Garden

Connecting People to Weave a Better World

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Steve Habib Rose.  A number of us met this evening and thought that this group would be a fitting tribute. Lets use this group to recognize, honor and appreciate the many gifts and blessings he bestowed on so many of us. Please add yourself and your reflections.

the quality of connections cannot be underestimated and physical touch is a way to deepen those connections and take them past the mental and into full embodiment...and from there, alot more becomes possible.

habib is continuing to show up through all the hugs that we give each other. the quality of my hugs has dramatically increased because i can't hug now without remembering habib's beautiful presence whenever he would hug me. and it was a true heart to heart hug that didn't end until it was really over.

tonight at the memorial service for habib, as we were lingering and sharing stories, mark jones reminded me of a great youtube video that could be one of habib's theme songs...

It was a wonderful memorial service. Habib's wonderful generosity of spirit really touched a lot of people. In his memory I am going to try to be more generous in spirit as he was. Like the story of visiting his neighbor. The world needs more of that.

I was at my dry cleaners yesterday, and realized I would love to have them as a Puget Sound Community Change Merchant, but they are Korean and we don't speak each others languages well. I thought of Habib, and his commitment to reach out and connect with those who are different than himself. I then took the time to get to know the couple, Haeo & Jae, even though it was slow and uncomfortable. We agreed to talk more next week and they put a poster for Green October up in their window.
