Kenya is on the spot as the ICC Prosecutor make a visit very soon. He will meet the Preident and the Prime Minister, who are likely suspect in the cases he is about to prosecute. Knowing Kenya as notorious for corruption, will these two not suggest a bribe for the prosecutor?

Hi, Hassan, Can you provide us with some additional background information on this? I have been doing research into the situation in Uganda recently and the corruption there which has led to the sell off of part of a national forrest to a multinational corporation for use for sugar crops.
Can you advise where I might find out more about what is happening currently in Kenya around this topic of justice? Thanks |

Ocampo was here and has just left. What I am not sure about is what he discussed with the leaders...who are themselves the main suspects. But certainly he enjoyed a view of the Kenyan wildlife. I thought he was coming to 'set Kenya as an example' and expected to him to leave with one or two guys in handcuffs, well, may be he has his own better way of showing that example.

Still on justice, one of the most wanted man for Rwanda genocide Felicen Kabuga is enjoying himself here in Kenya. According to Obama's Special Envoy for War Crimes Stephen Rapp, this man is here under the protection of people who might themselves be headed for the Hague soon. Anyway that is not news in Kenya. boatsie, just goggle 'corruption in Kenya' and you will get thousands of links towards that subject. |
