Hey, all:

Frank added information on education and the Commons, which prompted me to add to the Group a Resource entitled "The Tragedy of the Commons" by Garrett Hardin. This paper has such broad applications to our movement, that I highly recommend it to everyone.

I first read it in the early 70s, and had forgotten about it until last Christmas, when at a party someone mentioned it--it was like getting hit with a big sack of intellectual bricks. The Commons is one of the traditional features of life that is under attack by some of the same bloodless soulless factions who would dismantle public education, which as Frank mentions, is also a Commons. Hardin provides in this paper an excellent understanding of the problem and offers some very worthy solutions, with very broad applications.

If you can't easily find this paper, contact me.
