Do we happen to have an area on this site dedicated to suggestions for reading material? I think it would be very beneficial to be able share ideas on books and other reading items. Any thoughts?

Hi Jennifer,

The areas of focus portal pages has some form of reading list for each subject matter. This can certainly be improved by further user contribution.

In the WiserEarth Area of Focus Editors group, we have this proposal (under development, brainstorming and looking for ideas such as yours) to revamp the design of the portal pages, so it can hold more structured and meaningful information (such as reading list, related podcasts, educational videos, etc.).

Currently, we're using the Human Population Growth and Impacts area of focus for this purpose. You can compare current portal  and the  experimental portal (both are wikipages). There's an In-depth section in the latter to hold information of a suggested reading list.

We're gonna need a lot of user contribution to build up such reading list for each area of focus though.
