Hey Michelle,
Currently, only site administrators can remove comments from a page (unless it's your own user profile page, which in that case, the user can remove any comments as they see fit).
The reason why removal of comments was restricted is because of our transparency principle - we didn't want users to be able to remove information that might change the structure of the discussion. While it may make sense for group admins to have "control" over comments that appear in their group, not all the content that's shown in a group is owned by that group. For example, if a group is publishing a wikipage that's been made public, then the community has equal rights to that wikipage. Under those scenarios, it becomes tricky to determine who has the right to delete/edit comments.
However, you can flag a comment for removal by clicking on "Flag for review". We check that list often to see if any inappropriate comments show up, and will remove it as warranted. If you don't hear back from us, feel free to message me directly, and I'll be happy to take a look right away.
Thanks, Honore

I marked a couple of comments for deletioin. Not because they are "inappropriate" in the sense of objectionable or obscene. However, they are divergent from the discussion we are trying to have. So I was trying to prune out the divergent comments once that is obvious, to try to keep the discussion focused. It is a technique that is analogous to removing orphaned thougth bubbles on a mind map schematic to keep the map from becoming overly busy. I don't mind doing it this way, if your site admins don't mind the burden of keeping up with them. |

I am an administrator for a group and am trying to remove an inappropriate comment from a Wiki. But it seems my only option is to delete the entire Wiki.
I suggest you offer the ability for admistrators to remove individual comments from Wikis and discussions.
