Hi all,

Perhaps you have heard about this already, but Governor Schwarzenegger has proposed a closure of 80% of California's state parks. This comes up for a vote tomorrow, June 2.

This is madness because the parks bring in $2.35 in community revenues for every dollar that is spent on them, so it is a losing measure financially as well as environmentally. I know some of us here are local to California. This affects 220 of our state parks.

So if you're a Californian and haven't yet signed the petition, please check out www.calparks.org and sign the petition/letter to our government officials.

Thanks for the work that you do,

Kerry

Kerry, it is madness indeed, I could not believe it myself.

I wonder what could possibly be the reasoning behind this? The economics don't make sense. What else could it be???.... madness?
