Your participation is key, so will need your input on time & date! First, here’s the skinny…
Meeting Purpose: To support integration of The Global Summit planning, 1PIE portal, and "7 Stages to Sustainability" capacity building programs.
1) Present (to LA community) & Review (for TGS founding participants) outcomes of TGS 2008 Planning Symposium.
2) Gather community consensus and leadership roles around development of TGS 2009- define scope, finalize dates, according to objectives developed in San Francisco.
3) Plan/ discuss protocol for election of TGS producing organization, Empowerment Works expanded Board of Directors. 5-7 new seats will be available.
Proposed Date: 1st or 2nd weekend in April, 2009 *evening meeting also possible! FYI- Robert Mehia, Ben Clayton and I had first discussed Sat. April 4, 2009- some are good with this, yet MANY other not-need consensus!
WHAT DATES WORK BEST FOR YOU?? Would the following weekend (April 11/12) work better, OR A SUNDAY?
Next Steps: Once we have your input to finalize Date & Time, I’ll compose the RSVP invite to larger EW listserve. We’ll secure venue based on RSVPs.
Program/ Agenda: For those able, Robert has opened his office for small (max 7 ppl) to outline plan/ develop agenda April’s larger Meeting on Thursday, March 19, 6pm (sharp) - 8/8:30 latest. Fortunately, as my trip to South America/ Antarctica & Chile has been cut in half/ postponed (Nov Leaving March 8th- 13), we can get started on agenda this week and regroup to FINALIZE mid-march. My intention is to keep it simple & engage input of people AT APRIL’S MEETING.
VENUE OPTIONS: one option is Santa Monica Library for 40ppl max …Multi-purpose room is available @ 200/ 4 hrs.- drawbacks are that we can’t rsvp (need to leave as , only invite if we had a free space it would be great. IDEAS?
