Hi,

The time in the CET - timezone, from Spain to Poland, seems to have missed the end of daylight saving time or summer time (CEST) on Sunday 25 October 2009. At least my daytime points 1 hour ahead of the real local time. Can somebody kindly fix that.

Martin

We are actually planning to remove all the timezone fields from the site. They don't function well and no one really is using them. Hope that answers your question. Best, Angus

Thank you Angus. What will be the time used then? The issue is to be able to follow the timeline of inputs from various places around the globe and to compare them to the actual time at the place of each member. How will that be possible most easily? Regards, Martin

Good point. Removing the timezone from people etc makes as it pretty obvious from the location what the time is where they are. But from the perspective of looking at activity on the site we need to decide how that is being displayed. Have to give some more thought on that one. Any ideas.

If people don't set up their time zone correctly that is their own problem. You can hardly incluence that, except maybe making the field easier to find. I had a hard time to go back to it. I tried it via the user settings and needed Jerry to tell me I had to go there via the edit funcion of the user info. That part was a little bit confusing. Would it be possible to have one tag "user settings" or "user info" with all the settings?

But what is the problem with the timezone function? You say it doesn't work properly. If it would, it should be possible, that all times on WE pages are displayed according to the time zone of the person watching? Is that difficult to program? (I am really no developer of such tools)
