SF already has a Transition Town steering committee. Some of the folks that took the training last fall. I could put you in contact with them. |

Thanks Kevin, It would be great to be in touch with people on the steering committee. I will send you an email and maybe you can make the introduction. |

I wanted to see who might be interested in joining a group or the steering committee (4-5 people) to start a transition town initiative in San Francisco. There is a training on March 14 & 15th in San Rafael given by a good friend and founder of Urban Permaculture, Kat Steele.
A lot of what is required from the promotion and event side is planned as part of Change SF programming. Also the city already has a Peak Oil Task Force and a Climate Change Advisor in the Mayor's office. So we would not be starting from scratch. When we start this
I think it would put San Francisco as the first medium sized city to have an initiative underway. More information on Transition Town Movement and Training - http://www.transitionus.org/. Let me know if you would like to be involved as I will be setting up a dinner in the next couple of weeks for planning purposes.
