Why did you go to the Green Festival? What did you like most about it?

I went mostly for the opportunity to network... it's a great place to do that.
There's no question about what I enjoyed most: Mark Anielski's talk about his book "The Economics of Happiness". As an activist for Sustainable Development, it provided me with a quantum jump in the theory and foundation that underpins the changes that need to happen. I view it as the "science" that complements Korten's and Hawkins' "poetry". |

For me, as a recent college grad, it was exciting to see all of these cutting-edge businesses and non-profits in the same room. It gave me a sense of what's out there and helped me hone in on what my specific area of interest is in this vast field. It was exciting because 5 different organizations that I have interned with or volunteered for were there, including for-profit Brighter Planet, non-profit Earth Island Journal, WiserEarth of course and Middlebury College representatives... it showed me how connected we all are.
