Roger, we discussed the idea of a launch of GA to broader community after the completion of the 3rd round. Although the Wiki general plan has the beginnings of a step by step process for project development, I think this is a best case scenario and that we should proceed with some marketing for January. Here are the initial steps I'd like to take:
1. pursue Global Voices Online
2. Register at Technorati
3. Seed in delicioius
4. Calendar on progressive online calendars with invite
5. Begin database of contacts
6. Contact individual organizations (Barefoot College, SRISTI, AllAfrica, Panos Online, Graemeen Bank, etc.) with invites.
7. Research.

But I think we should probably decide first a particular region we want to start with. Above examples are India, Africa, Pakistan)

6. Conduct research in international development and social justice communities to begin database of

I think we will have most success in India. We do have some Pakistani participation now, but the Pakistanis are totally distracted by hugely important but internal issues, so when they write in the Dialog it will always be about Pakistan, and therefore not as suitable as it might be. India has a huge online population that speaks English.

Anyone else have an opinion? I suppose we might say Europe is a better target, and it is, I expect as far as recruitment of participants goes. Going that direction does get us more global, but emphasizes the West as the core, while India gives us East/West balance right away.

How about India as our major with a minor in Europe?
