I was unable to go to the www.dreamreborn.org conference but was thinking and drawing some connections, here 40 years post MLK death...

Just discovered Proffessor Michael Eric Dyson, his new book is ; http://www.michaelericdyson.com/april41968/

and than Steve Coll's new book; The Bin Ladens an Arabian Family in the American Century...

http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=165852&title=steve-coll

And than got to thinking.....

Van Jones speaks of Green For All as a national initiative of the next president; perfect President to champion the development of the initiative would seem to be Barack Obama right...?

Wouldn't it be perfect for Green For All to evolve into an international/ global effort...?

In America we focus on the genius of the program being how it applies to our problems, but aren't our problems versions of the worlds problems?

Wouldn't this have the potential to smooth over all types of global and regional conflicts?

Some of Michael Eric Dyson's comments about race and rap music/ art....  He touches on how some Hip Hop artists were able to react to the devastation of Katrina faster and more efficiently than George Bush/ federal Govt.

Couldn't the same kind of thing be applied to rap/ creative arts/ music and international cultural differences?

Couldn't an International Green For All Program championed by governments rallied behind Barack Obama working with internationally popular music artists (inclusive to all types... but I am thinking rap) be a means to achieve a wiserearth in the near future?

Doesn't rap music basically empower those without power; give them voice/ expression?

Isn't that exactly what Barack Obama is arguing he will do?

Isn't it possible to believe that Barack Obama could pull something like this off, by empowering the grassroots of America... and than together we all subsequently empower the grassroots of the world...?

If this was achieved wouldn't it to some degree preserve cultural differences and combat the negative effects of globalization while allowing for the positive benefits?;

Dyson speaks to how rap inevitably transcends stereo-typical low income African American culture and becomes an expressive art form for all disenfranchised, taken advantage of, minority, underdog, people and groups ... etc (ex. look at the power of any of Eminem's good work etc.)

Couldn't rap (creative art process) ultimately be the means to preserve cultural identity in the face of globalization?

Couldn't it - blended with the legitimacy of Barack Obama as President - be the thing which could literally transform the world into a just and sustainable community?  Empower the disempowered with their own strong cultural voice (the individual/ and the country, etc.) and green jobs -- the things that will diminish conflict on all levels...

Wouldn't that be the most efficient, productive and fast way imaginable to execute the Green For All vision on the international scale and realize some degree of world peace?

Wouldn't the growing international network of WiserEarth be the perfect partner for Green For All as they begin to lay the foundation to initiate an INTERNATIONAL campaign?

When JFK was a sickly student in Harvard and wrote his thesis "why England slept' which evolved into a book... he spoke of how England needed to stand up to Hitler... of how the only thing that will stop power is power....

Frederick Douglas said; "Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will."

Martin Luther King said; "The jaws of power are always open to devour, and her arm is always stretched out, if possible, to destroy the freedom of thinking, speaking, and writing."

It seems like the Green For All campaign on the international level/ blended with cultivation of cultural creative arts expression....

would have some potential.... to empower the disempowered, to spark grass roots change toward a just and sustainable world created by community that can resist the detrimental effects of globalization...

Another resource for discussion is their group:
Green For All

Good point, I will "wisen up" and transfer the discussion there...

It would be great if International wiserearth participants / organizations / groups could all check out/ join the Green For All group as well...

And... April 20th Hip Hop Summit is hosting "turn up the vote" =

http://www.hsan.org/Content/Home.aspx?pageId=241

It would be great if that kind of work... could be expanded via Barack Obama co-operatively working with International sanctioned initatives like http://www.wiserearth.org/group/cpi...

Just thinking of how Bono (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bono) and Bill Gates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates) etc. cooperatively work together to fight the Aids epidemic...
http://video.on.nytimes.com/?fr_story=c952d6682c267138b98dc9d25b1fff485336010f&rf=sitemap

The snowflake thing; little Fifty Cent sitting on his bed in the basement talking into a taperecorder: emotional release via creative arts...

That kind of cross -cultural human artistic expression... analogous to bacteria collecting water molecules; building regional/ localized-cultural 'weather pattern'/ gathering influence on the cultural 'climate'... art always works to reveal the TRUTH...

Wiser Earth likened to a global immune system reaction, our current not-sustainable relationship to the earth likened to a disease overtaking the host...

Artistic expression as the outlet that allows an individual - regardless of culture/ type of art - to survive (through adverse circumstances...); creative arts likened to therapy...

If the Green For All vision could be implemented on the international scale, again -- with the aid of internationally influential hip hop artists... whose grass roots cross-cultural 'indigneous culture' influential/  reach empowerment of those without power, those without voice... is developing into something a million times more effective at influencing than political 'force'...

Harness and cultivate that kind of creative genius / clean energy technology innovation to benefit the whole world...; an 'epidemic' of music influence to counter the epidemic of our existence on the planet: diseased/troubled mind finds outlet through creativity and subsequently becomes balanced... fight power with power... etc.

Globalize sustainably while maintaining some degree of cultural integrity?  Was thinking of how T Freedman wrote in the 'world is flat' about how the next U.S. president should initiate some sort of urgent 5 year plan for the development of an alternative fuel etc./ make U.S. energy independent... make the initiative a national co-operative comparable to what JFK did with the push to put a man on the moon...

Why not make Green For All an International initiative with the same kind of cooperative spirit the U.S. used to put a man on the moon... ?

If the world combine these two messages on the global scale.... global climate change / global cultural differences... while maintaining integrity of cultural diversity on the planet in the face of globalization...

Barack Obama 'A More Perfect Union' Speech.

Mix it up with a thematic international application of the Green For All vision, while cultivating/encouraging more of a values-based consumerism... like with the RED campaign...

The post is not meant to be political... I respect the civil movement of wiserearth... but Barack Obama seems to be an emerging champion of that movement. peace.

If Microsoft finalizes the Yahoo merger... wouldn't it be great for NCI to seize the oppurtunity and campaign / negotiate with Microsoft/Yahoo to expand their global philanthropic vision?; provide www.wiserearth.org some sort of part-time presence on yahoo.com homepages across the world?

Work together to give the global movement a more immediate presence in the mainstream?

Seems like there would be no better advertising/ marketing for either group?; participants/ members of www.wiserearth.org could in turn endorse microsoft/yahoo by organizing their networks to support microsoft/yahoo via concentrated use/ conscious consumerism etc..

Admittedly that could be a little bit of a niave/ reductionist thought process...
