I am applying for a Fulbright scholarship to go to Peru in 2010 to do research. I am looking for organizations that might help lead me in the right direction towards achieving research in the area of bilingual education and cultural preservation amongst Peru’s indigenous youth. I am bilingual in Spanish and English but would like to study bilingual education between Spanish and an indigenous language, perhaps different dialects of the Quechua and Aymara languages. Simultaneously this would allow me to study how their culture is preserved and instilled in the youth. Do you know or can you lead me in the direction of any organizations that have to do with bilingual education in Peru or indigenous culture organizations? Anything would help.
