I'm with you Dunk, we really do need to come together if we want any kind of next state of evolution. Capitalism is melting down because it hasn't, as you say, morphed onwards. I'm curious do you think people will be able to join together locally and globally by shedding all the trappings of capitalism such as markets, money and property? Or are we talking about a new vision of economics in which the bits that work can work better and the bits that don't work are fixed? Could the profit motive be fixed to align with the needs of people and planet, so that perhaps more people could come together faster?
I've been thinking about these things for a talk I'm giving soon, From credit crunch to planet crunch - or revival? This proposes a revolutionary switch in the way we try to get economic growth and a new economic tool that could make C2C the norm for every material product. |
Thankfully capitalism is in a melt down state just now so we humans will be faced, more and more, with just ourselves.
