As a set of idealistic notions the ones set down by this group could not be more pure of heart or noble of breed. No right thinking human would stand against such things. So why have they not happened yet? Of course, we’ve the current state of our evolution to “blame” for that one and the current status of capitalism. Not yet has it morphed in to the next “way of being” for humans. As humans we have seen the transition from Slaver to Feudalism to Capitalism and we have seen a corresponding expansion in both our reach and our horizons. We have within us the seeds of larger horizons and a much larger reach; but first we must come together as humans for the sake of humans and not for the sake of profit.

Thankfully capitalism is in a melt down state just now so we humans will be faced, more and more, with just ourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to think these things through and for aiming for the best for all of us.

Peace,
Dunk

I'm with you Dunk, we really do need to come together if we want any kind of next state of evolution. Capitalism is melting down because it hasn't, as you say, morphed onwards.  I'm curious do you think people will be able to join together locally and globally by shedding all the trappings of capitalism such as markets, money and property? Or are we talking about a new vision of economics in which the bits that work can work better and the bits that don't work are fixed? Could the profit motive be fixed to align with the needs of people and planet, so that perhaps more people could come together faster?

I've been thinking about these things for a talk I'm giving soon, From credit crunch to planet crunch - or revival? This proposes a revolutionary switch in the way we try to get economic growth and a new economic tool that could make C2C the norm for every material product.
