We are looking to plug people into collaborative projects that can be worked on every month which might be technology or nature related: community/school gardens, tree plantings, green roofs, low income solar, building weatherization, transportation, local food, etc. What are you interested in seeing grow?

I am interested in holding space for local projects to emerge nationally. I have a presence in LA, Hawaii, Sedona, the Bay Area and Virginia and I look forward to helping our communities become more locally integrated, especially around growing food, communicating, collaborative visionary organizational development, and learning how to share and work together in solid ways. The concept of barn-raising - for any given project - has always been near and dear to me. I want to see us coming out and learning how to help one another and integrate our communities better in daily life. I'd also love to see families sharing child care more so grownups can become more expanded in their service work and kids can learn to be together more.

Laura,

I like your thoughts here. I think the LA and SF communities are growing into a connected movement. I am hoping that Change SF will be part of generating more of the barn-raising projects you speak of. Some ideas are starting to flow on the different networks - Facebook, Linkedin and here on Wiser Earth. I will try to aggregate and syndicate the ideas to drive collective actions towards the vision of the community.

I just added a resource to the site for the Bay Area Climate Solutions Database. I have not read the whole document yet, but it may add some additional projects of interest locally.
