I recently used the maps function to locate all the people in my (rural) area and individually requested those people to be added as "my friends". That seems to be the limit of how I might interact with this group easily. What would be valuable is if (in a FaceBook fashion), I / we could communicate as an add hoc group to explore further possible interests and collaborations. ie. I'd like to be able to introduce myself or an idea to a selected group of people.

rent a hall and invite them all to come to a party!

Haha john, it'd be great to hear of some stories of people meeting through WIserEarth
Glad you made use of the maps function Niklas. The best way to communicate quickly is to create a WiserEarth group, and then invite the people you know, whether they are on WE or not, to it. Or check out the groups which Big Sur WE users are a part of already! |

OK, thank you, I will explore creating a group when I have some time, but if I have to invite each person individually that would be missing the point. The point being a facile way to message a number of selected individuals collectively

Hi Nik, through "Invite members" you may send a mass invitation if you have e-mail addresses. WE doesn't currently allow mass invites of known WE users due to the potential of spam.

Hey, all:
I use the "Search" function to find participants in my home area and state to invite, by opening their profiles and click to be friends, and I use the "Activity" links to do the same. There may even be a way to use these search features together.... And, fortunately, each of these works globally and for all the activities provided.
