the time came to form our local and international organisations in unified platform/causes.
There is thousands of organisation doing parallel similar efforts related to same cause. Lot of energy dissolves and efficiency is poor.

Thats why, people should work cause and project oriented instead being a member of different organisation.

My proposal:
1. Ask existing organisation to concentrate their efforts and define causes for their activism.
This forming process is essential and require lot of moderation and drafting work. How to start, I really do not know.
we all should work to combine out efforts and share the challenges in efficient way.

2. develop new Projects and Creativity Pool - Feature to be implemented under each causes and groups.
Document existing Ideas/Projects
Ideas collection and conducting System:
The Mask for Idea-entry should include for example
Creator
Titel
Description
Tag Action Level (local, regional, national , international)
Evaluation (Severity, Priority, complexity, Costs Aspects)
etc.

Before creating new Idea, member will be directed to the exsting projects/idea on the cause or project.
If the idea is new , the entry will be transformed and prompt the into discussion forum for further development.
The active discussion will be posted under the cause home-page
After getting concrete information about the idea, it can be moved to project - status.
Under Cause home-page "New Project" flag will appear.
Cause members can add the project to their "My Projects"-List
Project coordinator can send massage to all group members.
Members should be add jobs/action items to their list as well .. etc.

Hi Jafra,

Welcome to the club! What you are describing is what we and a million other people want to accomplish. To succeed we will have to somehow overcome the scattered state that we begin with. There are so many communities out there and for the most part they have a positive atmosphere and want/need/deserve to continue, but if we somehow build the great unified platform in the sky, all the existing communities will have to be dissolved. Unless, somehow we come up with the glue application that brings everyone together while also facilitating the current crop of communities - but alas this application is a myth.

WiserEarth is as good a spot to land as any. We have some good ideas - I will invite you to the Global Assembly group in a separate message - and we need your good ideas in the mix. I hope you will settle down here for the long haul. My guess is we will have something like what you are suggesting in about 3 year.

Hey all,

Jafra, "Data Portability" and "Semantic Web" might be the keyword for this endeavor toward a "unified platform/causes". WiserEarth seems to be looking in that direction already (being very much a database-oriented site). Maybe one day when WiserEarth can be that good to be the No#1 choice of "online presence" for concerned citizens and NGOs, we'll have an easier time uniting the scattered and fragmented effort.

On the "Creativity Pool" feature, a part of what you're suggesting seems to be in the works under the name of "Best Practices Object" at http://www.wiserearth.org/article/6426ad923354d9f3e7ae0e433dd51ff9
Perhaps you can post your comments and ideas there for further elaboration.
