I'm with you Lorenzo. We need to have some meetings to get this rockin...
I don't think the facilitators are set in stone, though I have a lot of faith in Sophie and Pamela...we all must facilitate!
There isn't a voice/txt meeting option at WiserEarth, so we'll have to find another way to meet in live time; though, I like the WE model of people posting thoughts/docs/info etc and us responding when we can...as we all have day jobs!

I agree. It is time to actulize!
We could probably set up a forum like this on my site Dianovo. I will check with my programmer/partner to figure out the details. Otherwise skpe is a great option.
Also I would be open to having face-face collaboration with bay-area members and perhaps bring in skype to accommodate those who cant be here in person. I have a good size house I am willing to lend to the cause.

If most people are in the US we can use freeconference.com ( I found the quality of skype conf. is a bit unpredicable) and webmeeting like yugma to continue brainstorm and map out the actions.
Also, I will be around SF area on the week of Dec. 7th. Free on Dec. 8th. do you think a few hours face-to-face meeting will be possible for the people who are around the vicinity?

Agreed. Perhaps we can pick a date and time for a conference call that is acceptable to most. I think it is essential to keep the energy and momentum moving forward.
I have several questions. When we had conversed in our 1PIE breakout session, taxonomy was something we all seemed to agree would be an important step in the process of developing our project further - yet when polled by the entire group - this was seen as one of the least important areas. Are we to focus and put our energies into a global concert and all work as a team toward this outcome or are each of the groups to focus on "their own" area of interest? For me, clarity of the desired outcome is paramount. |

I don;t see a way to do voice/concall on Wiser Earth, but the skype list we circulated only had 3 names on it - so we need another alternative. Should we do this before or after Thanksgiving?

Hello everyone,
Just saw this thread today and decided to drop by to let you know that there's a new module for WiserEarth groups silently launched last week. It's called 'Chatterbox', which enables simple, live, text chat for group members. You can add it to your group from Administrator Tools >> Customize Homepage >> Add Content >> Chatterbox. Would be great to hear your feedback too on this module.
While video / voice conference is not yet available, we're considering integration of the opensource Dimdim collaboration suite (which includes group video conferencing) somewhere in the future. You can use this now for free up to 20 persons per meeting at DimDim.com. If you do decide to try this out, It would be great to know your feedback on whether this should be a priority for implementation in WiserEarth groups. Is it good enough? What do you like most about it? What is missing?

Pamela - I'm ok to have a call this week, Tue. is fine as jayme suggested, not sure about others?
Had a quick look at the DimDim.com that bowo suggested (Thanks for stopping by here, bowo!), it seems feature rich and no download required, we should give it a try. It is also Open Source :).
Suggest we arrange the following facilities for the first call: 1. DimDim.com for webmeeting 2. freeconference.com for backup audio
Pamela, let me know if you need my help to arrange those. I already have a freeconference.com account so it is easy enough to arrange, can do the dimdim as well but thought it will be easier to have the person hosting the meeting to setup so you will have full control.

Tomorrow is workable for me as well but I think if we were to set the date a week from tomorrow - that's Tuesday December 2 - more of us would have a chance to arrange our schedules to make the meeting.

Sorry for the late reply, we had meetings scheduled for Monday that were postponed for Tuesday so we weren't sure if we could meet today. We are in a planning meeting with Melanie until later this afternoon, So could we do the call around 4pm Pacific tim or anytime after that?
Jenny, since you have the account with freeconference, do you mind setting it up? Is everyone still ok talking today? I don't think that we need to have a webmeeting at this point.
I don't have an agenda written down, but we should agree on the next steps in order of priority as a start. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Sophie & Pamela - if you need to change the time, just send us a note the same # should work. Any time after 3PM PST (6pm EST) is better for me. For some reasons I don't get email notifications on these forums, even I think I have the proper notification setting set. Just so happen that I checked in the forum now, don't know if others have the same problem, an email invite might get better attendance.
my items for the call would be to suggest creating a few wiki pages to start addressing the questions that Pamela posted on the other thread. So agreeing on the pages need to be created can be one of the items of this meeting, as well as a timeline for creating a charter for this group. As I was not at the TGS, will be interested to hear people's perception on what this PIE portal is about, something fundamental before we go too far.

I suppose a discussion on how we proceed from here on with regards to facilitation their respective meetings:
If not then maybe there should be another breakout with commitee on Skype as originally discussed in the symposium breakout.
Any ideas?
