Did you mean Narda (azariarahamim)?
Is this a ShareThis icon+link ? Or some other kind of mechanism to share links? What kind of links? A link to the group's main page? |
|
oops yes, I linked to the wrong Narda. Bowo, would you be able to follow up with her directly to see what type of links she thinks would be most useful as my technical knowledge is pretty basic on this topic. Thanks so much.

Thank you bowo and Camilla
This is what I meant. At the moment this facility seems to appear on the organization pages
The other improvement is to create new link connections with other peace networks such as this one. Peace and Collaborative Development Network Building Bridges, Networks and Expertise Across Sectors
Mostly for academic and professional peace builders, hence a superb connection for WE. This is an example of a daily messaging by the founder czelizer - http://internationalpeaceandconflict.ning.com/profile/czelizer
Others, also sub-ning networks are ipeace, and, mepeace which is mostly concentrated in middle east peace initiatives.

Thanks Narda,
Got it about the ShareThis button. I wonder if the reason for not including it on the homepage of groups is lack of space??
Not sure about the second suggestion though... how would you like to "create new link connections"? Would simply linking from your groups work? Or do you suggest WiserEarth as an 'organization' partner with those networks? If the former, then it can be done anytime from almost anywhere in WiserEarth, as you know. If the latter, I am unsure of how to go about doing that... WiserEarth is a space where everyone is free to come, join and interact. WiserEarth is also a community where any member can connect with any other member and invite others beyond WiserEarth to connect. So in essence, you can already reach out and connect with those initiatves without going through any 'formal' procedure or ask someone to do the reach out and connecting. |

We are going to eventually include 'ShareThis' for groups in the search results page. The group description page is rarely visited unless the group is a private one. Groups are 'shared' in a fashion through the Facebook Application and people's internal friendfeed as well.

Can we just include a "ShareThis" link (minus icon) at the end of the short description (with/without the "...learn more" link) on the group banner? I think the idea is to enable easy-sharing with people beyond WE. ShareThis enables easy-twittering or emailing for example.
It seems that loading the group's homepage also loads the ShareThis plugin/script (looking at Firefox's status bar load progress text)... so, why not add in the link? |

I received this suggestion from Narda:
Share-links on the group pages will be a tremendous improvement!
Also, share-links with other peace networks
