Hey Rebecca, What type of documents are you uploading? If it's like a Word document, you can probably set password options and make sure only your group admins have access to "unlock" the file. But let me clarify something just to see if there's a misunderstanding. WiserEarth doesn't have any "editing" options built-in to the site for uploaded documents - all a member can do is download and upload files. I suppose they could download the file, make changes, and then re-upload it as a revision. But that's where the password protection settings relevant to your document kicks in - if it's like a acrobat PDF file, then they definitely can't edit the file. If it's a word doc or excel spreadsheet, then setting a password will prevent them from making changes. Does this answer your question? |

Thanks, I will see about protecting our Word documents with the password option, or just upload PDFs. Yes, the members have been instructed to download our docs, save, and upload the revised documetns to the site (otherwise, the uploading revision button would replace our documet with theirs. Thanks so much. |

Some of the the documents we will be uploading to our group site should be protected and should not be edited by members (some can be edited, some cannot be edited).
How do I protect or lock certain documents for all members (and make them able to be edited only by group adminstrators)?
Thanks,
Rebecca Valdez
