Our dear dear Narda reports via email regarding the current catastrophic flooding in the Scotland borders... this is probably not the exact place for this ... but I wanted to draw this issue to our community .... so that we keep Narda, her home and her countrymen in our thoughts and prayers and potentially alert anyone we know among us to connect, help out if they are anwhere nearby. This picture below was taken in Narda's town, Hawick!
Youngsters in Hawick watch from the Victoria Bridge as the River Teviot rips through the town in full spate. The river rose 8ft in 24 hours and burst its banks in the town
The River Teviot close to bursting its banks. Several rivers across the Borders rose to dangerous levels yesterday and overnight.
Sergio's Diner restuarant still open for business as the River Teviot flows past.
Narda reports:
It is absolutely flooding here in Hawick today!
One major road to Edinburgh has been closed to traffic out of fear that the river will burst its banks onto the road.
I've just seen it what an awesomely terrifying sight!
They say it's the worst flooding in the whole country...

A few months ago the thought struck me, that perhaps, I have never been long enough in one place to actually
witness with my own eyes the effects of climate change... whichever it is, last night's river's awesome rage,
wielding such an assault on the lips of its banks, was one, the likes of which these eyes have never seen before... Oh Noah...
I've not heard much news - editing on WE :) - apart from what people tell me, the whole of the Scottish Borders is flooded..
Hitherto towns were flooded one at a time per year...
