Hello,

I'm David Schlessinger. I joined this group because i lived in the Pacific Northwest for about ten years. During that time i went to school at the University and eventually graduated with a degree in Environmental Studies. I also used to compost at home with my father. Gardening is such a big activity in the Pacific northwest, and composting is great with all the rain.

Anyway i don't live in the Pacific Northwest but in the Eastern Sierra region currently near the beginning of the Great Basin. I work for the Washoe Tribe of California and Nevada in the Environmental Department. We do composting in this desert region and pass out compost bins to tribal members. I think it is a great thing for gardening anywhere and can really help enrich the soil.
