What do we do to animals? Kill them for food, trap them for fur, use in laboratories or train them to jump through hoops.  Animal lovers hope that worldwide there will be new legislation to promote more humane treatment for livestock and other wildlife. However inadequate, all Western countries have worked out laws on animal welfare. It is high time all other countries followed suit.

With corporate factories replacing traditional animal farms, it is not difficult to find animal factory workers kicking cows, ramming them with the blades of a forklift, jabbing them in the eyes, applying painful electrical shocks and even torturing them with a hose and water in attempts to force sick or injured animals to walk to slaughter.

When animals panic before slaughter their blood can secrete toxins which are harmful to human  health.
