Hello: is their some way to tie my group on your site to a mail function like Yahoo Group mail or Google group mail. I like all your functions, and I would transfer all my groups to you if after putting the content on your site I could then start a conversation by email with my group members.
I know I am not the first to want this. How do you suggest I solve this?
Warmly, Ike |

@ Ike: At the moment we have the group 'mail all' members functionality - which if members have their preferences set for receiving WE internal email to 'forward' they get an email message. That can meet some Group Admin needs.
Are you looking for a ListServ functionality on WiserEarth, or do you want to keep / or start a Google or Yahoo mail group that somehow integrates with a WiserEarth's group member list? If you want a WE based ListServ that draws from the Group Members what functionality are you looking for? Which of the following:
If not, how would the WE group member list intergrate with Google or Yahoo? Sorry for all the questions but its good to understand your specific needs, because as you said a number of people have expressed an interest in this.
Best, Angus

I actually like the 'existing' layout better for some groups that are more 'research' oriented. I also found it sad that existing group Administrators would have the option of keeping the existing layout -- but only for a little while -- and then would be forced into accepting the new layout -- when it was also mentioned in Peggy's email that three (3) templates would be available in the future to new groups.
I think that before forcing everyone to accept the template that is now proposed: 1. Administrators should have the option of seeing how their site would look in the new template before changing over, and 2. Before foring everyone into accepting the first of three templates, that the other two should be previewed so that Administrators could opt to accept one of those as an alternative.
Felt a bit heavy-handed to me, and since I am more interested in developing a research site than a social-networking site, I was a bit taken back.

@ JPMS: Group Admins can now stay with a 50/50 layout but if they want they can convert to the new standard 66/33 split in column widths (see Edit Settings under Admin Tools menu). Modules will continue to have the new skin - which has also been improved a little with the latest release on Friday.

Great work everyone! The new layout feels considerably more inviting to me. The group space is now even more of a place I want to inhabit and hang out in as well as inviting others to visit. Thanks again for your contribution to our development.

Hello everyone. Great to see the new skin up and running. It's looking good!
I'm testing it at the moment using Firefox 3.0.5 on WinXP SP2, and here's some initial feedback:

Whoops, please disregard my feedback on: "Blank space to the left of Admin Tools button, where there used to be tabs, seems redundant." It's not redundant and is used for explanations to visitors or members who are not logged in.

The pop-out on hovering mouse cursor over pencil icon needs to go leftward like the "Administrator Tools" pop-out menu. At present, it's rightward and hovering over the pencil icon on modules positioned in the right column will make some text in the menu getting cut-off (likewise with the pop-out grey frame).

I have just started my group Walk on Washington and I like the way you have everything set as it is but need help as I'm new at this. Can anyone come and give me some help. I don't know why I'm having so much trouble as I have profiles on the Pickens Plan and have not had any problems there,This site is just not the same format. Victor Saylor.

Hi Victor,
We have FAQ and tutorial pages for using, customizing and managing groups. You can reach them from the "i" icon to the left of the blue "Administrator Tools" button as pictured below:
Thanks for using WiserEarth groups and let me know if you have any other questions or need any help. Bowo |

It would be great to have the date of posting listed below comments made in the "Chatterbox."
