Since the Exchange no longer takes computer stuff the way they once did, I think the problem of e-waste needs to be addressed through some other means. If I had the space to do it, I would love to get an operation going that works much like Portland's Free Geek does.
Logistics are a bit fuzzy for me right now because I haven't thought this through thoroughly, and the truth is that the only resources I have to invest in something like this right now are my time and skills.
But the point remains, in my mind, that some kind of effort needs to be made to keep this stuff out of our dump. So many things can be salvaged and either put back into use or broken down into their reuseable components and recycled off-island.

Just some thoughts. Anyone care to comment?
