I'm enjoying WE and connecting with people, groups, org etc

I'm getting a bigger and bigger stream of info coming to me through my watchlist. It is useful as I find sometimes info which is relevant for me but there is more and more of the info  I have to go through.

Would be useful if I could rate some of the information providers - friends, groups, orgs etc so the information would be sorted according to this rating. Some sources are more relevant and I trust them more then others.

It would help too if this information could be geotagged so one could sort it according to how close it is to a location.

I remember being on Transition Training and one of very useful exercises was arranging the particiapants in the room according to where they came from so they could start collaborating and some of the issues they worked on were shared due to the same local gov, funders etc.

Our lives are mulitifaceted. They depend at least  on who we select to interact and receive information from and where we live. As such those two sort functions would be helpful to me. Any other useful filter?

Twitter suffers from the problem of too much noise and a website http://philtro.com/ offers the possibility of rating the Tweeters you follow so you get their tweets more then others.

@Kamil: Thanks for the idea. We're likely going to be splitting your existing email watchlist alert into separate digests for every group that you are a part of plus one of your contact/network's activity. That way you will be able to decide which you want to follow and which you want to turn off. That should help a bit. Down the road we will be improving the dashboard news feed - which may include turning off feeds from specific contacts. For now only power users are getting the overload - but having some way to filter will be key in the future. As for geotagging, we are moving to a new search engine that will allow every record with an address (the majority in WiserEarth) to be geotagged and searched i.e. all orgs within 10 miles of point X. Never thought how that could be used as a filter for feeds but thats a cool idea.

Keep the ideas coming. Best, Angus
