One thing to be clear about is that at this point, March 2008, the Global Assembly (GA) and WiserEarth (WE) are not integrated. I would dearly love to see such an integration, but we have to get there in steps. The first step will be to complete the GA forum capability. That will happen in April. The second step is to try the GA process for a particular WE discussion. One possibility is to use GA to consider WE Rights and Responsibilities. Another is to use GA for the much broader topic of developing a WE strategy. Myself, I think GA is very well suited for the large topic and needs more software enhancements to really work as a prioritizer of Rights and Responsibilities, so I would like to try it on the topic of a WE strategy in the broadest sense. The third step is that GA has to be moved to open source MONO environment. This is a technical step but critical. it will take about 3 months to migrate to MONO. I agree with your notion that it is we the people from the bottom up who will have to transform the world. Our position in relation to what you have termed "classical" society has to be flexible, I think. We have to be careful not to get ahead of ourselves. As you suggest, people need to feel included at the strategic level, yet we need good strategy right from the beginning. I think this means we need to reopen our strategic thinking on a regular basis - yearly, perhaps, possibly in conjunction with a yearly conference. Oh alas, jafra, your initial post in theis topic has run up against a flaw in the WE software where a link at the end of a sentence doesn't work - that period messes it up. Here is your final paragraph again - this time the link should work.

Because it will be on a global scale, I am ok with having "too many" oppressed people participating in the Global Assembly! Any large group of people using the GA software will be self-moderating. I am convinced that we can trust the GA process - the more input, the better the output. However on the subject of offering an alternative political system, I think that would just split us off from the rest of the world and make us yet another competing power center. We need to an additional component to the world system, not an alternative. Our addition will legitimize the global perspective in all national and local dealings. To me we need to transform the nation-state system, not replace it. Along these lines I very much like Ikeda's (Sokka Gakkai) notion of fostering a humanitarian competition among nations. This kind of change would mark the transformation of the nation-state system. I am not sure exactly what you mean by "civil anarchism", but if it means what Krishnamurti speaks of in the film clip when he asks "Can that content [of our consciousness] end?", then I am hoping that the Global Assembly will get us there. That a bottom up voice of humanity will never be this or that, that it will always be in motion. Humanity and the individual are natural allies, I believe, against the horrendous excesses of the nations and religions in their competitive dealings with each other. DP: Dialog Point ( direct response desirable)
in general I count on the learn process the global conversation going through.. as u said, it is natural. I am trying and searching for breaking though ideas the last 1,5 years and I did not give up .. but it looks my determination has slowly its fruits and feel to move on the right path. Thinking about global change in behalves of the "Palestinian cause" in depth made me look into the issues from bird eye perspective and see growing consciousness toward social justice in many spots. From my management background the first thing I've started is how to network it! One wise man tolled me once, you have to figure out the root cause of "movement". There is certain low behind it, like gravity in classical physics. He did not give any answer. He knew, when one find and understand the answer him self it will be more powerful .. And now I think I can answer this question: it is the consciousness it self. When the bird in the sky looks on you and me , the activism groups and million others it will notice the same quality of energy flow toward a certain point and from a certain source. Consciousness is the only term unify both points in to get a circle and integration. I am mentioning this as I think the "spiritual" aspect is essential when we start to define our objectives .. So it is not money or wealth or official responsibility .. DP1: I believe GA should re-think the strategy on formation phase and work on new measures to integrate other actors. Was my proposal on this clear? At the point GA forum capability is ready a new Kick-Off with new actors for a next step is required. Am not specialist, but I see the puzzle should come together (direct democracy and dialog in Diversity). There are huge resources out there and many would take over a certain action item (Level 3) - see http://www.wiserearth.org/forum/view/782e33016123b8acb4124f06ba8db7f2 - within a global strategy based on "transformation society and classical political system", GA should drop the bait (the web2.0-petition) to network them with your/our challenges. You still owe me an feedback on this. When we begin to speak about level 4 components, the best people to have are those from film animation sector and film directors like David Lynch, people can imagine huge amount of details can and should be considered. You will see consciousness have a natural flow and things will be set right! About "offering an alternative political system" I would leave this discussion for options definition phase. It is politics and it is my weakness. I still need to look into details of GA objectives and measures. At the end "our consciousness" should present an ***Agenda*** and it will never be perfect, we can only learn and make it better. Well, I wont mind to live within the alternative competent and still interact on transforming the classical one.. I will feel more save about my kids within .. I really do not know existing models on this field (alternative live). "civil anarchism" is my expression i use often like "Occupational Lobby" when I speak about classical governance. I use "civil anarchism" to describe a global community presents an transforming Agenda based on new alternative super power (consciousness) If we are good enough we can even establish other power to balance the existing one .. or compete it. Why not .. its politics again :) DP2: Are their different camps within the movements on this outlook, which might split its consent? Those options flow within creating the vision. But I believe we can not have one thing for all .. people will seed to choose what they imagine. to create a global vision and global resources glue-platform need a global initiative with snow-ball tactics.
The first steps forming the core of the snow-ball will determine how stuffed, strong it will be to make sure it will get the expected volume after certain rolls (phases)
.. the fact many forces trying to go into same direction without knowing about each other shows an enhancement potential and question the strategy taken place toward further development!
I believe there are thousand or may be 10 Thousands out there cognate and would share GA objectives.
To get the team set, we should go through a formation-phase and include existing resources share our vision and consciousness.
I see with GA a great part is done to form the global-brain http://www.peterrussell.com/GB/globalbrain.php which will imagine a better world and implements it. But how to get the others like http://www.open-knowledge-society.org or http://www.pdc2008.org/ and other main actors http://betterworldlinks.com/ or grass roots activists within? To let them feel it is our community of all of us and not a private one of Mr. x !?
Yep, people in general have a cultural issue of leadership and contribution. They wont easily agree to follow an initiative if they do not share it from the beginning.
To a void such complication The idea/tactics i've proposed during my work to build a Palestine-Network, to get the maximum resources from start on in order to be respected by formal world is unique ( I guess :) ) and easy at once:
Vision/Petition web2.0-Data-Base Combination
A strong massage/call/vision will need to write down and send out to be signed. Assignee will have the chance to enter their data within a data-base mask, which will be sorted upon usage of further purposes (can be discussed on "Marketing" section of the over-all strategy).
This way, we from the huge global unified construction site.
With this tactics we would have for example 1000 top programmer would share the initiative .. and insure the wheel will not be invented twice!
Personally I do not believe formal institution like UN and all other occupied organs will migrate the humanity into a better world. It is we have to do it. Corruption can not produce goodness.
