Hey, all:

Hey, James: I have to agree that the simpler "Invasive Species" makes more sense, and "Control..." is subsidiary. It certainly is an issue which exists well beyond the marine environment. I am pleased to find others who have the perception and attitude toward invasives as you do.

I completely agree with the sources and players in invasive species, plus the huge costs for control and the loss of biodiversity and habitat loss incurred.

When the AoFs are up for alteration and improvement we can make sure this improvement is included.

I would propose a simple "Invasive Species" AoF. Control and eradication of invasives is certainly a solution to the problem but would, as an Area of Focus, fall entirely within Invasive Species, since any discussion of invasive species demands attention to solutions to the problems they cause - it's a more elegant method of representing the problem.

I hate invasives!!! I especially hate that there is no special attention in our tax codes and little regulation of the sale of invasive species as pets and landscaping.

English Ivey, while mostly benign, is actually an invasive species, along with many kinds of grass, rabbits, fish in the aquarium trade and countless unknown potential invasive species. I wish that legislatures would pass tax code additions to discourage the sale of non-native species.

Hey, all:

I looked for "Invasive Species" and only found it under Areas of Focus associated with Marine Biology and Ecology. Indeed, invasives impact a far broader range of habitats and ecosystems than just the marine environment. I suggest an Area of Focus entitled "Control/Eradication of Invasive Species" be placed in either Conservation, Ecology, or Habitat Restoration. Thanks for the consideration.
