Volunteer Network of Support for Little Big Horn Event

To reply respond directly on this discussion board with you’re capabilities, expertise and commitment being offered in supporting the event. The commitment requires confirmation by Maka Si Tomni of your role and commitment of offered services, preparation and attending team meetings via conference calls in the next 90 days. The event preparation starts on June 18, 2008 and is completed on June 27, 2008. The volunteer is responsible for transportation costs and camping during the event. The give-a-way of volunteers will be shared in the program of the event and your contribution is greatly appreciated!

Maka Si Tomni is coordinating a Volunteer Network of Support in preparing, managing and completing the Little Big Horn Victory Celebration. Our intention is to have an Earth Based Protocol of “leaving no-trace-left-behind” and managing and assisting the safety, security, organization of infrastructure of the event, and impact on the land and environment.


Expertise Needed: (if you see an area not being addressed please let us know)

•Leaders to manage project, process and volunteers
•Earth Based Protocol expertise, no-trace-left-behind
•Veterinarian’s, especially in South Dakota, testing prior to transport
•EMT’s capable of attending event
•Ferrier’s and experienced horsemanship
•Horsemanship trainers that can visit groups prior to ride
•Food purchase and preparation
•Kitchen equipment and expertise
•Tractor Trailer equipment and drivers
•Porta Johns and hygienic maintenance
•Security, safety and parking
•Circus tent, sound system and crew to manage facility
•Water truck and driver
•Portable corrals and ranch hands
•Hay and feed
•Elder support
•Communication structure for event
•Film: producers, directors, camera men, editing
•Public Relations, Media Control and support
•Firewood
•Emergency planning for weather
