Thanks for reporting this Kamil. It's a known bug where there's a delay in new groups indexing by the search engine. We're in a process to change our search engine, so instead of bug fixing, it will be an overhaul I guess.
As for simple linking, could you instead use the standard "Insert external link" button? Then get the URL of your group from the "My Groups" tab on top-right section of the page. |

I was writing in my About section and wanted to link to the group Southend on Sea in Transition. The page loaded where you can choose to search people, orgs and groups but when I've put in the name it didn't find anything I've tried to put in only bits of the group name and I got Southend Freecycle and similar but not my group.
